Mountain Biking

Kelburn Trails

Club membership required for access

Provisional date for reopening: Saturday 1st April 2017 please call closer to date to confirm

Opened in June 2015, Kelburn launched Kelburn Trails, our impressive red mountain biking downhill trails. Kelburn Estate are delighted to open this new exciting activity, which is 5 years in the making!

In 2016 we added a new trail, level red in difficulty, following a similar trajectory as our other track and gives riders a greater range of downhill riding. If you fancy a go come into our office and sign up for club membership!

Please note that these trails are not cross country trails.

Club Membership

Kelburn Trails is only open to club members and will continually progress through the support of the club - signing up to be a member enables us to continually develop new trails and make the area even better.  Annual membership is valid from date of purchase until end September 2017 and cost will be £20 per person.  This will include:

  • unlimited use of the trails and Kelburn Country Centre
  • use of the shower block
  • access to the cafe

Open Days

We will be having open days through the Summer season where anyone can come and ride. These days will be published here and on our Facebook page.  The price will be confirmed soon.

Equipment

We do not provide any equipment for the trails, including bikes and protective clothing (e.g helmet). We strongly advise all users of the bike park to wear all necessary protective clothing and helmets are mandatory when riding on the trail.

Contact with Horses - PLEASE READ

Kelburn is an active estate for horse riding and there are intersections between the mountain bike trail and horse paths. As a result, it's important to know the rules in being around and riding your bike near horses. This includes:
*Horses are very unpredictable and spook easily and may be afraid of bikes
*Make horse riders aware of you presence if approaching from behind by calling out to them
*Always slow down and do not pass unless rider says it is safe to do so
*Pass wide and slow
*If you see the rider is having difficulty s please stop and do not try to pass until rider has control of horse and says it is safe to do so

Contact

If you are interested in joining the Kelburn Trails club, please send an email to: jared@kelburncountrycentre.com and we will get back to you soon with how to purchase your club membership pass and where to pick it up. We look forward to hearing from you!
