Our Dining Room can accommodate 48 seated guests, and up to 60 guests for a buffet. Any group who book for a meal have exclusive use of the Castle. In addition, we can arrange for a tour of the Castle, if requested, by a trained Guide.
Pre-dinner drinks are in the seventeenth century Drawing Room and Lord Glasgow is sometimes available to greet the guests, if requested. The Victorian Dining Room is a magnificent setting for a formal dinner, hung with family portraits and with extensive views over the sea.
We have an interesting and innovative menu selection, and we will be delighted to discuss any dietary requirements with you when you make your booking. We offer a good quality table wine served with the meal, however, at the request of a client, we can provide alternative choices.
Overseas visitors particularly enjoy our Scottish Dinners, and we can arrange for a Piper to greet our guests on arrival, and to pipe in the haggis, if requested. The acoustics in the Dining Room are perfect for a Harpist (Clarsach player) to entertain throughout dinner.
Luncheon is almost invariably combined with a tour of the house and you are then free to wander through our beautiful gardens or take a leisurely walk up the Glen, said to be one of the most beautiful in Scotland. The Walled Garden (The Plaisance) is at its very best in May and June, and is ablaze with the colours of azaleas and rhododendrons, particular features of the West Coast of Scotland, and its warming Gulf Stream.
