There’s lots of disruption to our normal lives at the moment. Kelburn took the decision to close, which means thousands of children will miss out on the opportunity to visit us during the Easter holidays, May Bank Holidays, and with their schools. And although that makes us sad, we’re VERY excited to welcome you all back in the future.
In the meantime, why not encourage your little ones to make one (or all) of the Kelburn inspired crafts below? Don’t forget to share your efforts with us!
PAINT A PEBBLE
Find the best pebble you can in your garden and paint it, using our castle for inspiration! Think about the bright colours and interesting characters found on our walls.
Bring your pebble along with you next time you visit, and you can put it in your favourite spot at Kelburn! (Don’t forget to share your efforts with us on Facebook)
WRITE TO OUR MAGICAL FRIENDS!
Our magical friends, who live the Secret Forest, are feeling quite lonely! Why not write a letter to our Giant, our Fairies, our Witch, or Mr and Mrs Teeny Weeny?
You can send the letters to:
Think about the last time you came to Kelburn. Did you see the birds or the waterfall? Did you see our very tall trees or the colourful flowers? Did you have fun? Did it make you happy? Think about the colours you saw. Then, grab some old magazines and choose some images and words which reflect your feelings, and stick them down on a sheet of paper.
WRITE A STORY
Are the cowboys in our Saloon up to no good? Or maybe there’s a mermaid who lives by our waterfall? Or perhaps our Alpacas, Dom and Merlin, have been on a secret adventure?
MAKE A CASTLE
There’s LOTS of castles in Scotland. Why not do some research online and see how many you can find? If you could build a castle, how would you build it? Who would you build it for? Maybe you’d add a slide or a landing pad for a space rocket? Try making your perfect castle from cardboard and papier-mâché, or use your Lego, or draw one instead?
