Sample Weekend Stay

Arrive at Kelburn Castle, ready for an enchanting getaway!

(Check in for camping is at 3pm, but you’re more than welcome to arrive earlier in the day and make the most of the Country Centre.)

Let the kids stretch their legs after the journey, with a visit to one (or all!) of our three outdoor play areas. The Saloon is a wild western fort, complete with slides, sandpit and jail. The Adventure Park is perfect for bigger kids, with a challenging course of tunnels and scramble nets. The Secret Forest is our most famous play area, filled with magic! Keep an eye out for the Giant and Goblins…

Once everyone is considerably worn out, head back to your tent for a campfire BBQ (firewood can be purchased from us on arrival) or head out and let someone else cook! Scotts Restaurant is located at the marina (just a 10-minute walk from the campsite) and offers our campers 10% off their food bill!

Terms and conditions can be found here.

There’s a lot of exploring to be done today, so make sure you fill up on breakfast from our Courtyard Café, open from 10am. Once you’ve fed yourselves, why not feed our animals – including the greedy goats and cheeky chickens! (If animals are your thing, why not book a pony trek, from £5 per child?)

Head through the grounds, spotting all the wonderful sights as you go, including our beautiful waterfall. There are several paths you can take, including one up that leads you right up the glen – revealing some pretty spectacular views of the bay.

Add some culture & history to your trip with a castle tour, a visit to our museum or the self-led History Trail. The castle tours are £4 per adult, £2 per child and present an insight into past and present life at the castle. The museum exhibits items from the 7th Earl’s impressive collection from his visits to New Zealand.

The kids may be interested in the Ranger’s Centre where they can learn more about the animals found in and around the grounds.

Enjoy a leisurely stroll about the gardens and take a last look around the unique estate. Enjoy our heritage trees, including the two 1000+ year old Yew Trees and the Weeping Larch.

Don’t forget to pop into the Gift Shop and get some souvenirs. And don’t leave without getting an Instagram worthy pic of the castle! (Make sure you use our hashtag, #KelburnCastle )

On your way home, nip into Largs and grab some ice cream of legend, from Nardini’s!

Drive safe and be sure to visit again!
